Find support

A next step.
On your terms.

Find care, pick up supplies, or talk to someone. You can ask what a service offers before deciding anything.

What would help right now?

Find substance-use treatment services that list care for under-18s. Choose your county to see local options.

or pick a place:

Outside our two counties? FindTreatment.gov has a national directory ↗. External sites have their own privacy practices.

Before you contact them

Not sure what you need yet?

That’s a perfectly good place to start.

Talk it through

A person on the other end

Someone to talk to.

Call or text, whenever you’re ready.

Right now

Someone is in danger, or might be.

  • 911

    911

Someone is unresponsive, not breathing, or you think they might die. Say they are unresponsive and not waking up. You do not have to mention drugs.

  • 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline

    988

Call or text if you want to die, want to hurt yourself, or just cannot hold it together right now. Free, 24/7.

  • Poison Control

    1-800-222-1222

Someone took something and you do not know what it will do. Free, confidential, and they are not police.

Someone to talk to

Not an emergency, but you don't want to be alone with it.

  • Crisis Text Line

    Text HOME to 741741

Text if talking out loud is not possible. A trained person, not a bot.

Alcohol and other substances

For you, or for someone you're worried about.

  • SAMHSA National Helpline

    1-800-662-4357

Free, confidential, 24/7. Treatment referrals and information about alcohol and drug use, for you or for someone else.

  • Never Use Alone

    1-800-484-3731

If someone is going to use anyway, they can call and stay on the line. If they stop responding, help gets sent. Not police-first.

A little further afield

Find treatment
near you.

The federal government runs a search for treatment programs by location. It covers alcohol and drug treatment, including programs for people under 18, and it does not ask who you are.

Our local directory covers Santa Clara and Stanislaus counties. For options elsewhere, you can search directly on their site.
